Xbox One Price Drops to $350 AGAIN

Microsoft has announced that starting tomorrow 1/16/15 a price drop for the Xbox One in the US.

The system will be available  January 16, from their preferred retailer  This comes after the Xbox One holiday edition sale ended and many questions about the future price of the Xbox One arose.

Xbox One Price Increase, Bad Idea?

Right out of the gate Sony’s PlayStation 4 outsold Microsoft’s Xbox One. To many people ,including myself, this was a huge surprise as the Xbox 360 lead sales between the two in the previous generation. I believe that big factors in this were the launch prices of both systems. The Xbox One launched in the US at $499 with a Kinect, while the PlaySation 4 came in at $100 less, but without a camera.

To try and pull in holiday buyers in the US Microsoft announced that on November 2nd, 2014 the Xbox One would be available at a special promotional price of $349. This was $50 off the original bundle price without a Kinect. The PS4 had a 9 month winning streak in outselling the Xbox One in the US, but that changed in November. The Xbox One outsold the PS4 in both the US and UK that month.
